Savvy Email is our email newsletter system. It can stand alone or be part of Savvy CMS. It enables users to send out HTML newsletters to a list of recipients and then see who read or clicked on links in the emails.
No Ongoing Fees - Savvy Email is sold on a per installation basis, there is no cost per email and no annual or monthly fee.
Tailored to Your Needs - We provide an easy-to-use web-based system with the standard features below plus any optional features that you want. We tailor multiple lists, groups, templates and other advanced features specifically for your requirements.
Standard and optional features are described below.
Standard Features
- Allows you to set up and send email newsletters using a web-based administration area, protected with a password
- The admin area provides access to the recipient list, with a search facility. Recipients can be added, edited, unsubscribed or deleted
- Recipient list can be exported at any time in an Excel-compatible format
- All code and data is hosted on your website or a space set up at your web hosting company
- If applicable, we can set up subscribe and unsubscribe forms on the website which integrate with the email newsletter database
- Confirms all recipients on screen before you hit the Send button, then displays each recipient as it sends each email
- Sends an individual email to each recipient (as opposed to using BCC)
- Skips duplicate email addresses
- Skips invalid email addresses
- Displays details of any recoverable errors (eg mail server rejects an email address)
- Resumes automatically from failure point for any unrecoverable errors (eg connection failure)
- Keeps a log of all emails sent and any errors
- Standard template allows multiple stories to be included in a newsletter, each with a title, formatted text, an image and a caption
- Standard template contains an index of story headlines with hyperlinks to each story within the email
- Works with any standard ASP email component installed on the server (CDONTS, Jmail, AspMail, Persits Mail, and can be extended)
- Can include images which you upload at the same time as entering the text
- Can automatically resize images to fit a standard size in the template
- Simple personalisation (eg Hi Mike)
- Tracks all HTML emails opened and all links clicked (with simple reporting facility)
Optional Features
- Bulk import of email addresses
- Can work with multiple lists or groups, with the ability to pick which groups a given newsletter is to be sent to (any duplicates are skipped)
- Multiple templates using different stylesheets and mastheads, or completely different layouts, can be created
- Can send multipart alternative messages containing both an HTML and text version if the email component supports it
- Full personalisation with a facility for users to log in and customise which content they would like to receive
- Customised template structures can be created (each element is defined and entered in separate fields using a web form or forms, making it easy to create newsletters that may involve complex HTML layouts)
- Recipient list can be pulled from an existing web-hosted database
- Lists can be pulled from existing internal systems (using a custom-written upload script installed at the client site)
- The recipient list can contain custom fields so it can be used for specific personalisation, or for other purposes
- We can provide HTML coding of template from a design
- We can provide full design service, based on your branding guidelines
- Full-path tracking integrated with a website can be developed if needed
- Can allow files to be uploaded and then included as email attachments or linked documents
- Can pull items from website content (eg featured products or deals), if integrated with Savvy CMS
- Bounces can be automatically caught and the email address removed after a specific number of bounces (this requires a POP-enabled ASP mail component installed on the server eg Jmail Pro)
